Terms for the teacher and student School workspace.

By creating or using a SmartKidz at School account, you agree to these Terms. You must be at least 18 and authorised to create the teacher workspace for your professional use or on behalf of your school or organisation.

Schools and teachers remain responsible for obtaining any authority, notices or consents required to add learners and use the service under their policies and applicable law.

SmartKidz at School provides teacher tools for lesson and homework materials, assignment, class assessment, reporting and a separate student workspace supported by Riley.

• Riley is powered by artificial intelligence and may produce incomplete, incorrect or biased output.
• Teachers review generated materials, decide what is assigned and interpret the resulting evidence.
• SmartKidz does not replace professional educational assessment, safeguarding duties, therapy or medical advice.

• Keep teacher credentials, class codes and learner PINs appropriately protected.
• Add only learners you are authorised to include and keep roster information accurate.
• Do not share classroom records with people who are not authorised to access them.
• Notify SmartKidz promptly if an account, code or classroom may have been compromised.

Self-serve SmartKidz at School teacher accounts are currently offered without an account fee or payment card.

If SmartKidz introduces optional paid School services in the future, the price and additional terms will be presented separately before a school or teacher accepts them.

You must not misuse the service. In particular, you agree not to:

• upload content you are not authorised to use or unnecessary personal information about a learner;
• use bots, scrapers or automated access outside an interface we provide;
• reverse-engineer the service, extract system prompts, train another model from the service or bypass safety controls;
• use SmartKidz to create or distribute unlawful, unsafe, discriminatory or age-inappropriate material.

Students use a class code, roster identity and PIN to enter a limited learner session. Teachers may be able to review assigned-work evidence, scoped Riley transcripts and safety signals for learners in their classroom.

Automated screening and safety signals support, but do not replace, a school's safeguarding policies or a teacher's duty to respond. Use the appropriate emergency or child-safety service for an urgent concern.

SmartKidz software and original content remain the property of SmartKidz and its licensors. You may use generated and printable classroom materials for your authorised teaching use, but may not resell or systematically republish the service or its libraries.

The site references ACARA v9.0 and the New Zealand Curriculum where content is available. SmartKidz is independent and has no formal affiliation with ACARA, the Australian Government or the New Zealand Ministry of Education. Australian Curriculum material is used under CC BY 4.0.

Our School Privacy Policy explains the information we collect, service providers, classroom access, retention and how to request access, correction or deletion.

We work to keep SmartKidz available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or a material breach of these Terms.

A teacher or authorised school representative may request account deletion. Applicable classroom and learner data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and any legal retention requirement.

SmartKidz is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee a particular educational outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited as allowed by the Australian Consumer Law; nothing excludes a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These Terms are governed by Australian law and the laws of Queensland. We will first try to resolve a dispute through good-faith discussion.

We may update these Terms when the service or law changes. We will provide reasonable notice of a material change. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
